4th week : 24th October 2011

This week our group gonna make an experiment based on fruits, so this is the full report of the whole day :-)
FRUIT LEATHER !

Before the task :
Miss Nina brief all of us on how to do and the detail of doing this task. Here she give to us the ingredients and we're the chosen one to do experiment on KIWI. 
The Ingredients :
2 1/2 cups Kiwi(2sets)
25gm         sugar
1tbsp         honey

During the task :


 Peel off the kiwi's skin ..
 Wash it cleanly..
 Put sugar into the blender..
 Followed by adding in the fresh Kiwi into the blender also..
 Opss.not to forget to separate the kiwi into two bowl, which is 1 bowl after blend can get 2 1/2 cups. :-)
 Blend until Fine ..
 Pour it onto the baking parchment that lay on the tray...
 Spread over it..
 Then here start the honey part, which is I mentioned before, divide the kiwi into two parts,isn't it?..
Add in honey into the blender..
 Followed by Another part of fresh Kiwi..
 Blend it till Fine..
 Pour onto baking parcment that lay on the baking tray
 Again..spread over it...
Then ready for dry it in the oven at 100 degree celcius aroung 3-4 hours until completely dry and no longer sticky

HERE THE RESULTS !

After the task :
 KIWI with HONEY..

 
KIWI with SUGAR..

CONCLUSION:
Overall we can say that honey will absorb more rather than sugar when we baked it in the oven. As we can see, the honey part mix with kiwi will show the colour more brownish rather than using sugar and the texture very soft. While using sugar the colour becomes more pale and the texture little bit hard and something like we called more chewy.
 Result :-)

3rd week : 17th October 2011

For this week , our group did the (2nd experiment) which is baked a bread that using no strokes kneading and one more is applied 50 strokes kneading. So here are the story for our experiment on those bread :

This is the ingredients that our group need to make bread.

..and we got two task actually . So we did the bread A using no kneading which is we didn't knead the dough at all, while bread B using more strokes which is 50 strokes on it. Mix up all the ingredient together except for water, at last put water slowly into the rest of mix ingredient.


We let the dough rest until became double size around 25-30 minutes in the mixing bowl then transfer it into the aluminium foil case, then baked it around 15 minutes with the temperature 220 degree celcius.

Bread A
*As we can see what happened to this bread, which is this bread looks got many holes on it surfaces because of didn't get enough kneading.

Bread B
*As we can see what happened to this bread, which is not so many holes on it surface because of got 50 strokes of kneading.

2nd week : 10th October 2011

For this week, we got task (1ST EXPERIMENT) from Ms Nina to do an experiment for bake a basic cake which is called ANGEL CAKE. In this experiment we need to test baked the cake using the different method and ingredient as well.Our group has given a task to do an experiment on "varying the amount and type of flour". We need to evaluate the outcome after we decreased and increased the amount of flour, and substitute the flour with cornstarch. Other group were given their own task for this experiment too. At the end of the day, there were many types of result due to many experiments on the cake.

1st week of FID Class

First of all, on the first week nothing to do actually, just a first met with a full black&white attire at teory class :)
Miss Nina ask us to make some preparation for doing an assignment such as get ready for her one proposal of recipe for making in our final examination . Which is proposal create a new recipe that don't have in this World "as she said" :) ....Then she keep talking about assignment, attendance and what to do in kitchen class and also what not to do in kitchen class as well .
